What to expect when we begin
Starting therapy can feel like a big step—and it’s one I aim to make as thoughtful and collaborative as possible.
Step 1:
Reach Out
Schedule an initial consultation
Send a message to express your interest, ask questions, or request an appointment. I’ll respond with next steps and available times to connect.
Step 2:
First Sessions
Getting to know you
We’ll use these first meetings to explore what’s bringing you in. You’ll share your concerns, and I’ll ask questions to understand your history, relationships, and patterns.
Step 3:
Understanding the Fit
Reflecting together
You’ll get a sense of how I work and whether it feels like a good match. I’ll share initial impressions and offer insight into how therapy might help, including the treatment approach I recommend.
Step 4:
Ongoing Work
Building depth over time
If we decide to move forward, we’ll begin the deeper work of therapy. we’ll look more closely at the feelings that come up in your life and the patterns that tend to repeat in your relationships—both outside of therapy and in the dynamic between us.
Step 5:
Revisiting & Reflecting
Checking in along the way
We’ll revisit your goals, notice what’s shifting, and reflect on what’s emerging—together. Therapy isn’t always easy—painful or frustrating feelings may arise, and moments of tension or misunderstanding are often where the most meaningful work begins. Naming and working through these moments can deepen trust and model healthier ways of communicating and relating. If you're feeling misunderstood or hurt, I encourage you to bring that into the room—those experiences, too, are part of the work.
